IHCL expands its footprint in North Bengaluru

IHCL Signs 300-Key Gateway Hotel & Convention Centre Near Bengaluru Airport, Expands North Bengaluru Footprint

Bengaluru, India: Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has announced the signing of a Gateway Hotel and Convention Centre in Kanamangala, Devanahalli, near Kempegowda International Airport, Karnataka.

The greenfield project further strengthens IHCL’s growing presence in Bengaluru, where the company is set to operate 20 hotels, including 11 under development, reinforcing its leadership in one of India’s most dynamic hospitality markets.

The upcoming property will feature 300 rooms along with a comprehensive mix of amenities including an all-day dining restaurant, bar, speciality restaurant, and lounge. Guests will also have access to a gymnasium and swimming pool, catering to both business and leisure travellers.

A key highlight of the development is the state-of-the-art convention centre, designed to serve the growing demand for MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions). The facility will include multiple banquet and meeting spaces, with the largest hall spanning over 16,000 sq. ft., making it ideal for large-scale corporate and social events.

Strategically located in North Bengaluru, a rapidly emerging growth corridor, the hotel benefits from proximity to the airport and strong economic activity driven by IT, biotechnology, aerospace, and advanced manufacturing sectors.

Commenting on the signing, Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President – Real Estate & Development, IHCL, said:
“North Bengaluru has emerged as a significant growth corridor with rapid expansion around the airport. This signing aligns with our strategy to scale up in this micro-market and address rising demand from corporate and MICE segments. We are delighted to partner with Hombale Group.”

The project is being developed in partnership with Hombale Group, a diversified organization with a strong track record in infrastructure development, having completed over 10 million sq. ft. of projects.

Shailaja Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale Group added:
“We are pleased to collaborate with IHCL to introduce the Gateway brand in North Bengaluru, in line with the region’s rapid growth trajectory.”

The group also operates Hombale Films, a prominent South Indian film production house founded in 2014.

In line with its expansion strategy, IHCL recently launched Vivanta Vrindavan, a 135-room hotel marking the brand’s debut in Vrindavan, offering premium hospitality experiences near key religious landmarks.

With this signing, IHCL continues to strengthen its footprint in high-growth markets, leveraging opportunities in airport-driven development zones and MICE tourism.
