Malaysia Hosts ‘Visit Malaysia Carnival 2026’ in New Delhi to Boost Tourism Engagement

New Delhi: The High Commission of Malaysia in India hosted the Visit Malaysia Carnival 2026 on April 4 at its premises in New Delhi, bringing together members of the diplomatic community, travel trade professionals, and the Indian public.

Organised as part of the Visit Malaysia Year 2026 campaign, the event served as a vibrant platform to showcase Malaysia’s rich cultural diversity, culinary heritage, and tourism offerings while strengthening India–Malaysia engagement.

Celebrating Culture and Tourism

The carnival featured a range of immersive experiences, including:

  • Live cooking demonstrations
  • Interactive tourism and business showcases

Visitors had the opportunity to experience authentic Malaysian cuisine and tropical produce, offering a glimpse into the destination’s unique cultural identity.

Dato’ Muzafar Shah Mustafa, High Commissioner of Malaysia in India, highlighted the importance of cultural exchange:
“Through culture, cuisine, and shared experiences, we aim to bring Malaysia closer to our friends in India and invite them to explore the destination during Visit Malaysia Year 2026.”

Ahmad Johanif Mohd Ali, Director of Tourism Malaysia – New Delhi, added that the initiative aims to position Malaysia as a preferred destination for Indian travellers, offering experiences across nature, islands, shopping, and multicultural attractions.

Industry Participation and Connectivity Focus

The event saw participation from key stakeholders, including airline partners such as Malaysia Airlines and Batik Air Malaysia, highlighting the critical role of connectivity in driving tourism growth.

Rising Interest Among Indian Travellers

The strong turnout reflected growing interest in Malaysia as a travel destination among Indian tourists. With enhanced connectivity and targeted promotional efforts, Malaysia is positioning itself as a key international destination for leisure and experiential travel.
