Philippine Airlines Suspends Dubai and Doha Flights Until April 30 Amid Middle East Tensions

Bengaluru: Philippine Airlines has announced the temporary suspension of its flight operations between Manila and key Middle East destinations, including Dubai and Doha, until April 30, 2026.

The affected routes include Manila–Dubai–Manila (PR 658/659) and Manila–Doha–Manila (PR 684/685), along with an additional cancellation for the Doha–Manila service on May 1, 2026. The airline stated that the decision has been taken as a precautionary measure in response to the evolving security situation and operational uncertainties across parts of the Middle East.

Philippine Airlines emphasised that the safety of passengers, crew, and aircraft remains its highest priority. The airline continues to closely monitor developments and coordinate with aviation authorities to determine when it is safe to resume normal operations.

Passenger Support Measures

Passengers affected by the cancellations are being offered flexible options, including:

  • Free rebooking once flights resume
  • Conversion of tickets into travel credits
  • Full refunds as per applicable policies

The airline’s customer service teams are actively assisting travellers through its website, contact centres, and ticket offices.

The airline also acknowledged the impact on Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), many of whom rely on these routes for travel between their workplaces and families, and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting them during this period.

Cargo Operations Impacted

Cargo services on these routes have also been affected. Philippine Airlines is working with logistics partners to explore alternative routing options to ensure the continued movement of essential goods.

The airline stated that it will continue to review the situation and provide updates as conditions evolve, aiming to restore Middle East services as soon as it is safe to do so.
