Bengaluru: The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has announced important deadlines for the ongoing Umrah season, outlining the final dates for visa issuance, entry, and departure of pilgrims traveling to Saudi Arabia.
According to the ministry, the last date for issuing Umrah visas will be the 1st of Shawwal, while pilgrims must enter the Kingdom no later than 15 Shawwal. Additionally, all Umrah pilgrims are required to depart the country by the 1st of Dhul Qada, ensuring smooth transition ahead of the Hajj season.
The announcement was made during the ministry’s 17th periodic virtual meeting with licensed Umrah service providers, where officials emphasized strict adherence to regulations governing both Umrah and Hajj operations.
Authorities reiterated that the Hajj pilgrimage must be performed only with a valid Hajj visa and cannot be undertaken using an Umrah visa, reinforcing compliance measures to avoid violations.
Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr Tawfiq Al Rabiah, praised Umrah companies for their coordinated efforts during the Ramadan period, particularly in assisting stranded pilgrims and ensuring their safe return amid recent travel disruptions.
He also highlighted the importance of operational discipline, including staggered airport arrivals and timely updates of pilgrims’ travel details through the Nusuk Masar platform, which plays a key role in managing pilgrim logistics.
The ministry further reviewed key performance indicators from the current Umrah season and discussed preparations for the upcoming Umrah and Visit Forum 2026, aimed at enhancing collaboration, sharing expertise, and improving services for pilgrims.
Officials stated that such regular engagements with stakeholders are part of broader efforts aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which focuses on elevating the overall experience for Umrah performers and visitors while strengthening the Kingdom’s position as a leading global religious tourism destination.
