Bahrain: Gulf Air has expanded its temporary operations from King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, adding new South Asian routes to support passengers impacted by ongoing airspace restrictions in Bahrain and parts of the region.
The airline has temporarily shifted several services from Bahrain to Dammam as airspace closures continue to disrupt normal operations, prompting airlines to reconfigure routes and schedules.
New South Asian Connections
The latest expansion strengthens connectivity to key high-demand destinations, including:
- Lahore
- Islamabad
- Kochi
- Dhaka
These additions enhance Gulf Air’s reach across South Asia, a critical market with strong travel demand linking the Gulf region.
Expanded Global Network
From its temporary Dammam hub, Gulf Air now connects passengers to major international cities such as:
- London, Mumbai, Nairobi, Cairo
- Chennai, Bangkok, Casablanca
- Manila, Paris, Frankfurt
- Istanbul, Athens, Thiruvananthapuram
This expanded network highlights the airline’s rapid operational response, positioning Dammam as a key interim hub for Bahrain-based travellers.
Passenger Support Measures
To ease travel disruptions, Gulf Air is offering:
- Ground transport between Bahrain and Dammam for booked passengers
- Transit visa assistance for travellers passing through Saudi Arabia under airline-arranged transfers
Passengers whose final destination is Saudi Arabia are required to arrange their own visas independently.
Bookings & Operations
Flights across the updated network are available via Gulf Air’s official website, mobile app, and authorised travel agents.
As regional developments continue to evolve, Gulf Air is actively adjusting capacity and routes to maintain connectivity and minimise passenger inconvenience.
