MP UP Cooperation Summit 2026 to Boost Tourism, MSMEs and Trade Collaboration

31 march, Bhopal: The Government of Madhya Pradesh is set to host the MP–UP Cooperation Summit 2026 on March 31 at Varanasi, marking a significant step toward strengthening economic and tourism collaboration with Uttar Pradesh.

The summit aims to enhance partnerships across key sectors including tourism, trade, One District-One Product (ODOP), handicrafts, and the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) ecosystem. Officials highlighted that the initiative is designed to create new business opportunities while promoting regional economic integration.

Focus on Investment and Industry Growth

Mohan Yadav, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, has invited Rakesh Sachan, Uttar Pradesh’s MSME Minister, to attend the summit.

The main session, scheduled between 12:30 pm and 2:00 pm, will focus on identifying new investment avenues and exploring joint initiatives across industries, particularly in MSMEs and tourism-driven enterprises.

Tourism and Infrastructure Learning from Varanasi

As part of the programme, CM Mohan Yadav will undertake a study visit to the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, one of India’s most prominent religious tourism projects.

The visit aims to study crowd management systems, infrastructure planning, and visitor flow design at the site. Insights from this tour are expected to help Madhya Pradesh enhance its own religious tourism infrastructure and improve pilgrim experiences across key destinations.

Strengthening ODOP and Cultural Trade

A major highlight of the summit will be the push to connect ODOP and GI-tagged products from both states to national and global markets. By aligning craft sectors and local industries, both states aim to boost exports and create sustainable livelihoods.

Boost to Tourism Partnerships

Tourism collaboration will play a central role in the discussions, with both states exploring opportunities to develop integrated travel circuits, promote cultural tourism, and improve connectivity between key destinations.

Officials believe the summit will not only strengthen economic ties but also enhance cultural exchange and tourism growth between the two states.
