Lucknow: The Department of Tourism, Government of Uttar Pradesh conducted a high-level review meeting to discuss new strategies aimed at positioning the state as a premier global tourism destination.
The meeting was chaired by Jaiveer Singh, Hon’ble Minister of Tourism & Culture, Government of Uttar Pradesh, along with Amrit Abhijat, Additional Chief Secretary, Tourism & Culture Department and Religious Affairs. The session was attended by Pushpa Kumar K. and other senior officials from the tourism department.
During the meeting, officials discussed a comprehensive roadmap to strengthen Uttar Pradesh’s position in the global tourism market. The discussions focused on enhancing tourism infrastructure, promoting heritage and spiritual tourism, improving visitor experiences, and strengthening marketing initiatives.
The state, known for iconic destinations such as Varanasi, Ayodhya, and Agra, continues to attract domestic and international travellers. The new strategy aims to further promote these destinations while also highlighting lesser-known locations across the state.
Officials also emphasized the importance of sustainable tourism, eco-tourism development, and collaboration with stakeholders to boost tourist arrivals. Improved connectivity, infrastructure upgrades, and digital promotion were highlighted as key priorities.
The initiative reflects Uttar Pradesh’s commitment to expanding its tourism potential and strengthening its reputation as a major cultural, spiritual, and heritage destination in India.
